As the whole world when down with the lurgy in Nov, we were forced to postpone Going the Distance ! However as we enter the deep mid winter we are now ready to give it another go. The new dates and time are
Saturday 20th Feb; 12.30 – 2.30 pm @ Church Stretton and
Sunday 21 st ; 12 – 2pm @ Oswestry Leisure Centre.
So if you feel you can go the distance for some very special children and help us cover the distance between the two family friendship groups a mere 37.5 miles. Please sign up.
I set out to do this I said … No runs ! I’m too old, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
So you can imagine my joy, when not one but three ! runs were added to list and with how much enthusiasm I dragged myself out of bed very early on a Saturday morning; After not much training and way to many camp fire late nights at the fabulous Nantcol waterfalls, to not only face 5 k but to have powder paint thrown at me the whole way.
and Casey Jones, from Castle Clothing and Consumables, has come to the rescue; THANK YOU Casey ! and ensured that Team “Run A Mile In My Shoes” will be well dressed this Sunday.
So all that remains is for everyone to get behind them.
If you are in Shrewsbury on Sunday, please find a spot on the route and support
Our Senior Playleader Ant.
Ant is running the whole 13 miles !! and will really appreciate your support on the day. See the route map here, why not download our flag template, fold and staple to a stick for you waving enjoyment. You can also sponsor Ant via his Golden Giving Page.
Not quite so far but challenging none the less Team “Run A Mile In My Shoes” will complete the 1 mile Fun Run on the showground. Top Banana ! Sam will be supported ( or left behind ) by Cameron, Joshua, Ephraim and Zac , Lucy, Nye, Olivia and Ethan and you can sponsor any of this lovely lot via the Team Run A Mile In My Shoes fundraising page.

On Fri 29th May Sam, Angela and Emma …. AKA team Climb Every Mountain ! will set off from Llanberis to conquer the mighty Snowdon; a mere 9 miles and 6 ish ( depending how often Sam has to stop ! ) hrs of climbing and walking.
As parents, professionals and a little sister, ASD is something very close to the teams hearts and Snowdon itself has significance for all.
This will be both physically and emotionally challenging, not least because it represents the mountains our families climb everyday.
